This spring, L’Officiel magazine unveiled its luminous cover featuring Maude Apatow—an actress whose quiet intensity and vintage charm have made her a standout star in today’s screen landscape. But behind the clean elegance of the final image lies the creative heartbeat of the production: Vandervoort Studio in Williamsburg, Brooklyn.

Shot by acclaimed photographer Carlotta Kohl, the session brought a modern sense of minimalism to the studio’s industrial bones. With its large daylight windows and expansive polished concrete floors, Vandervoort offered the perfect neutral canvas for the team’s springtime vision. Sunlight poured in throughout the morning, casting a soft, natural glow across the set as the creative crew worked seamlessly to craft the magazine’s cover moment.

Stylist Ryan Young built Maude’s look around a radiant yellow mesh halter by Area, adorned with Swarovski crystal embellishments. The outfit was simultaneously light, striking, and futuristic—perfectly aligned with both the season and Maude’s current cultural moment. Positioned simply against a white backdrop with no distractions, Maude embodied a quiet power that echoed the raw confidence of early 2000s iconography with a 2022 sensibility.

The beauty direction followed suit. Hair stylist Ben Skervin gave Maude a relaxed, middle-parted look that nodded to classic glamour while staying resolutely modern.
